Review:
Owww, I've been waiting for this book for AGES, Released March 2004. This book is stuffed full of all those colour images, some not seen before and the colour images that were turn to black and white in the manga volumes... There is a spat at the beginning where there is only 1 image per double page, the other side is taken up by image description or something, but it's in Japanese so I don't know what it says, but this book is so huge it doesn't really matter cause it's only for about 15 pages or something.

The CD-Rom is something rather sweet. The book it's self is soft back, but there is a huge thick cardboard panel in the back that contains the CD-Rom, making the book basically hard-back... The CR-Rom it's self contains some Japanese, then it's on with the Flash goodies, Wallpapers (not as good as your truly *laughs*), a few icons, message cards and 2 Screen savers
I couldn't get them to open through the flash file du to Language problems. If you cant do it either, Open the CD so you can see all the files, go into 'CONTENTS' then, 'SCREENSAVER', double click on the zip files, then on the .exe inside, it comes up with a preview, if it's like mine you get 2 choices that both say '????????' click on the LEFT one, then once that's done just click yes, and it takes you to your screensaver options... Wild Adapter is the only one that doesn't come up with gobaldy-goop.

Review:
This is a great little book, with original Minekura artwork, infact the only real anime artwork we see is on the story explained pages, with numerous of the best screen captures from the anime it's self, they aren't very big or impressive, but if you haven't seen the anime then it's enough to make you buy it, and if you have then there all the best bits... There is also screen shots and original storyboarded for the Wild Adapter Music video that appears on the DVD that has both OVA's on, and it's VERY drool worthy!
The image gallery is full of unsullied original image for the OVA, including covers and numerous drama CD's.
There is also a skit kind of manga by Minekura, so if you want to see Tokito dressed up as a Samaria or Kubota trying to do a Sanso impression then you have to get this (or look in my galleries for it ^_^)
Well, I could sing this books praces all day... but I wont... Great book and well worth it if you like Araiso ^_^

Review:
This book is just gorgeous!!! Nothing but images that will make your mouth water, this book is released for the "Saiyuki Reloaded" series, also contains lush images of "Saiyuki Gaiden"... The whole book is presented with mat finish pages, and some images look a little blurry but that just adds to the mood in this book...
There are a few images that appear in some of the unofficial books, but don't worry there the good ones :P...
This another great Art Book!!

This book isn't one of the better ones, but apart from the images scanned to death, there are some wonderful one's I've never seen before, along with the double paged one's I wont scan in... If your a fan of Bus Gamer AAA then this is the art book for you, lot's of nice images, ones I even like! The miscellaneous images are a little strange and I don't recognise the chara.
All in all this book is alright to finish off a set, and well worth having if your a fan... but I think I'm a little biast cause I love Wild Adapter to much and there's non in this book... eek...

Review:
When I first got this book I thought that it only contained images from Saiyuki, and it does to a majority but has most of the best ones in glorious full page colour, It also contains images from Minekura's other Manga's... " Wild Adapter ", " Bus Gamer ", "Just!" and a few other miscellaneous images and sketches that I could not identify. The full colour images are either full singly or double spread, with 3 pages of little colour sketches. The chara rough sketches are beautiful and detailed, all action poses and artist thoughts not just normal standing and face sketches that can be boring... All pages are high quality even the images on the covers I've counted as colour because they are of such high standards not normally seen are also inside the book. Also some of these images are a little Shonen-ai, mostly dealing with "Wild Adapter" and about 3 other images that I couldn't identify but are wonderful!.
Click HERE for more of my ranting about this book and it's relation to Weiss Kreuz.
Also this book is now 1 of 3 Illustrated Backgammon books... Umm I guess the artist must like the game?

Review:
This book is not as good as the first, on a level that it's almost totally Saiyuki images that have been scanned to death on the internet... BUT, that is not to say that this book is not really really nice! And there are a few illustration that I haven't seen about, again another beautifully presented book that just oozes inspiration. It has a few images from "Bus Gamer AAA" and 2 I couldn't recognize. The sketches for the colour illustrations are something that you don't see very often.

Backgammon 3

B&W: 24 - 18 sketches - 6 image info and stuff
Text info: What there is of it is in Japanese, but there is very little text.
Translation: Non needed
Size: A4 - Large - Hardback
Printed: 2001
Cover: Hard
ISBN: 4-7575-0426-8

Review:
This is much like the other 2 books with more wonderful imaged for us to gorp at ^_^, this book also contains more BUS Gamer images as well as some misc imaged that are really pretty... The sketches are a little better than in other books but some look like they have been scanned or photocopied on really dodgy excitement, that or it's a copyright thing :P but if you liked the others then you will like this one to ^_^

Backgammon Remix

Colour: 68 - All pages are full colour
B&W: -   - There are B&W images but hell, they are so good that I didnt count um ^_^
Text info: Nearly all of it is in English
Translation: Non really needed - apart from you have to be fluent in 'Engrish' *grin*
Size: A4 - Landscape
Printed: 2004
Cover: Soft
ISBN: 4-7580-3002-2

Review:
Like the title suggest, this is a mix of all the better images from the whole Backgammon Artbook trilogy... There aren't any new images in this book, and most of them are defaced by the 'Backgammon Remix' Logo. Also, almost half the pages are taken up with nothing but the 'Backgammon Remix' Logo on a blank page, I think this is so you can remove certain images and frame them or something. It's also not Hardback, with I really like about the other books.
On the brighter side, it does contain images that in the original books were spoiled by being double spread, also their is quite a lot of text in this edition, mostly random saying, some new character lines and the like, the only let down is that most of it is in Engrish, not English, and a little difficult to understand, but lets face it most of us couldn't do half a good a job in Japanese ^_^
This book contains mostly Saiyuki images, with about 1 for each of Minekur's other works.

This book is for those that dont already own any of the other Backgammon book, or for those crazy like me... ^_^
So if ya gonna just buy ONE Minekura art book, then this is the one to get with most of the best images!

Text info: Mostly Japanese, some English for titles.
Translation: nope.
Size: HUGE A4
Printed: 2001
Cover: Soft
ISBN: 4-7575-0579-5

Review:
This is more of an Anime Companion, this books anime stills are LARGE, considering the size of the book there are 8 anime stills to a page the common being only 4 or 5 per page with very little writing with NO annoying overlapping and is easy to follow layout, also there isn't any nasty images from the anime, all are basically illustrations in them selves. With most Manga to Anime, this one does not fall pray to butchering the chara design by the original artist. The illustrations for the Anime are also true to the original manga art if a little more block filled and shaded, they are still wonderful...The interviews are all in Japanese, But Kazuya's works in the movie black and white pages are interesting, from Kazuya's own hand drawn story-board and notes to what they look like in the anime... A wonderful book.!

Personal Review: I'm such a materialistic whor when it comes to Big, shinny and in full colour... But who can blame me, this book just knocks the socks off any other art book I have that's really an Anime companion... well worth anyone to have a look at...
Saiyuki is the grown up version of Weiss Kreus as far as artwork goes... a must for anyone into Saiyuki or really strange manga's that never seem to make it big :P

Translation: nope
Size: 18.5cm x 26.5 - 30 page comic book size
Printed: 2000
Cover: Soft
ISBN: 4-7575-02397-7

Review:
There are some lovely chara illustrations... The anime stills are not as good as the book above, but again no annoying overlapping and the cells are numbered so that there easy to follow... The merchandising pages are fun though and I always like this little insight into other cultures and for any truly obsessed Otaku to know what they haven't got in their collection. Good, but typical, black and white chara design. The interview with Kazuya has some interesting photos of where I assume the artist works... The rest of the Black and white pages are basically redundant unless you can read Japanese, but there are some interesting little illustrations. Still a nice book but not for the casual all-rounder anime otaku.

PS: Also... You find out in this book that the English way to spell the title is " Saiyuki " but in this Japanese book it's spelt *Saiyuuki*... Just I know what missing a vowel out of a name where it's really not that important can piss off some true blue Otaku's! ^_~

This book might be nicer if I could understand it... Other than that it's not that bad, the illustrations are good, of the episode's are a little confusing and for anyone who hasn't seen it will be mightily confused but still it's not all that bad... the 2nd book (below) has more promise... Still it has nice full page illustrations from the anime and the manga... Not much that you can't get from the content above :P

Review:
This book really is for the hardend fans only, or those that can read Japanese...
There are very few new images, the first part of the black & white section is filled with the manga synopsis, I think it's mostly Saiyuki Reload that it's covering (not to sure cant read it >_<) then there is lots of text about the storyline by Minekura, then there are about 19 pages of sketches, I think some of these might appear in other artbooks, not terrably sure... and to finish off there are more pages with text that I cant even hope to understand. there is also a few paged on what Minekura has released and when...

Again... this is only for those insane enough to want everything Minekura does :P
